When to go depends on where you are going.
South Africa does not have one season, it has several at once — the Cape and the Lowveld are close to opposites. Here is the short version. Ask us for the long one.
Dec – Feb
Cape summer
Long evenings in Cape Town and the Winelands, and the Garden Route at its best. Also the busiest and priciest — book early or shift a fortnight either side.
Mar – May
The quiet sweet spot
Our favourite months. Warm days, thinner crowds, lower rates, and the Drakensberg still green. If your dates are flexible, start here.
Jun – Aug
Bush and beach
Dry season in Kruger: thin vegetation, animals at the waterholes, the best game viewing of the year. Cold in the Cape — but Durban and the KZN coast stay mild.
Sep – Nov
Spring
Namaqualand flowers for a few weeks if the rains behaved, whales off Hermanus, and the shoulder rates before December arrives.

What is included in the price?
Accommodation, the activities on your itinerary, and the transfers we have arranged — itemised on your quote so you can see exactly what you are getting. Anything not included is listed as not included. Nothing is added at checkout.
How far ahead should I book?
For December and Easter, months. For most of the year, a few weeks is plenty — and if you are flexible on dates we can usually find something better and cheaper than the obvious week.
What if I need to cancel?
The terms are published rather than buried in a PDF that arrives after you have committed. Read them now, before you spend anything. Where a supplier's own terms are stricter than ours, we tell you before you pay rather than afterwards.
What if something goes wrong out there?
You have one number, and it belongs to the person who planned your trip rather than a queue. Every booking reference and supplier contact is on your own trip page, which works on a phone.
